Minneapolis has 1,000 trees for city residents to plant this spring. Trees available include Black Hills spruce, Korean mountain ash, prairie fire crab, accolade elm, bur oak, and mount royal plum trees. Order your tree by visiting www.TreeTrust.org or by picking up an order form at your neighborhood group or library. Tree pick-up dates are Saturday May 9 and Sunday 10 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Monday May 11 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the former Franklin Middle School East parking lot, 1501 Aldrich Ave. N., Minneapolis. Volunteers will even help load your new tree and free bag of mulch into your vehicle!
